About Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro was born on February 5th, 1985, in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal. Ronaldo is the youngest child of Maria Dolores Spinola dos Santos da Aveiro and Jose Dinis Aveiro. He has two older sisters, Liliana Catia and Elma. As a young child, Ronaldo played for amateur teams Andorinha and Nacional before joining Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon at the age of 12. It was there that Ronaldo began to turn heads with his prodigious talent, eventually leading to a €15 million transfer to Manchester United in 2003.
During his time at Old Trafford, Ronaldo established himself as one of the best players in the world, winning numerous individual and team trophies. In 2009, he moved to Spanish giants Real Madrid for a then-world-record fee of €94 million. He would go on to have even more success with Los Blancos, becoming their all-time leading goalscorer while adding multiple Champions League titles and a La Liga crown to his already impressive trophy cabinet. After nine seasons in Madrid, Ronaldo returned to his homeland in 2018 when he signed with Juventus for €100 million.
Since then, the Portugal captain has continued to rack up honors, including Serie A titles in each of his first two seasons with Juve. At 36 years of age, Ronaldo shows no signs of slowing down any time soon. When all is said and done, he may very well go down as the greatest footballer of all time.
